How to Choose a Media App Development Company

Every agency will tell you they can build a streaming app. Very few have shipped one that survived a rights renegotiation, a platform expansion and an OS release in the same quarter. Here is how to tell the difference.

Ask about playback, specifically

Which player SDKs have they shipped? Which DRM systems have they integrated end to end? How do they handle cross-device resume conflicts? Vague answers here mean the hard part is still ahead of you.

Look at the team model

Strategy, design and engineering working together beats a handoff chain. Ask who owns the roadmap after launch and whether the people in the pitch are the people on the project.

Check the post-launch story

Media apps decay. Confirm there is a support and maintenance model covering performance monitoring, security updates, OS-version readiness and feature work — before you need it.

Understand the pricing floor

Serious media engagements start around $25,000 and scale with catalogue complexity, DRM and device coverage. A quote far below that usually excludes the parts that make the product work.
